Saracens Announce Major Changes in Leadership and Technical Structure

After 15 consecutive seasons as Director of Rugby, Mark McCall has decided to step down, marking the end of an era. However, his influence will continue as he takes on the role of Technical Adviser and joins the Board of Directors.
A familiar face is returning to the club in a full-time capacity: Brendan Venter, who will assume the role of Director of Rugby from the 2026/27 season. This marks a return to the position he held at Saracens in 2009, where he and McCall first collaborated.
Mark McCall and Brendan Venter's partnership dates back to 2009 when Venter, then Director of Rugby, recruited McCall as First Team Coach. Together, they laid the foundation for Saracens' most successful period. When Venter stepped away from his full-time role in 2011, McCall took over as Director of Rugby, and Venter became a part-time Technical Adviser, a role he has filled for the past 15 years, providing invaluable support.
