Union Pacific’s legendary Big Boy No. 4014, a true titan of the rails, will kick off its first-ever coast-to-coast tour on Sunday, March 29th, departing from Cheyenne, Wyoming, and heading west toward California. The first leg of this historic journey will conclude on Friday, April 24th, back in Cheyenne, the locomotive’s home base.

Union Pacific reacquired it in 2013, and after a multi-year refurbishment, it returned to service in 2019, just in time for the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad’s completion.
